Originally released October 7, 1977 and lifted off the "News Of The World" album, this song pair has (each in its own right) reached truly anthemic status and as a result been covered, sampled, performed, or played at events of every imaginable kind.

This complex grouping assembles all single releases of the regular studio versions where -
a) "We Are The Champions" is backed with "We Will Rock You" (most commonly in that configuration);
b) either "We Are The Champions" OR "We Will Rock You" were re-released individually or as a double-A side (such as the 3-inch CD re-releases from 1988, and irrespective of the B-side or extra tracks);
c) or they are promos, test pressings, bootlegs, counterfeits or similar of the aforementioned.

I am figuring that this "Gulf War" edition wasn't released on a 7". I'd consider getting it for the humorous/political angle vinyl collectible.

"We Are The Champions / We Will Rock You" US single, was issued using three different labels, depending on where they were pressed.
Butterfly label: pressed by Specialty in Pennsylvania.
Caterpillar label: pressed by PRC in Richmond, Indiana
Red label: pressed by two different West Coast plants, PRC West in Compton, California and, for the first time, Allied Records in Los Angeles. The Allied pressing has the word "Queen" in large bold print with the letters (AR) on the label. The other red label has "Queen" in normal print with the letters (PRC-W) on the label.

I bought this single the week it was released in Australia and it came in a WEA generic die-cut paper sleeve. As far as I know, this was never released in a picture sleeve in Australia. The picture sleeve depicted appears to be the initial US sleeve - same number E-45441.

I think it's a shame that a specific Dutch promo release, which happens to have the same serial number as a German release but a completely different cover, is not approved in this database. It is a very special limited edition, with a very high collector's value, which I, as a true fan, would like to see in an extensive database like Discogs. But unfortunately there are some narrow-minded people who stop this every time. Still, I will continue to try it regularly.

I have a copy of this. My brother trash picked a News Of The World press kit which included this 12” at WSYR-FM in Syracuse, NY where he did custodial work in the 70’s. I have added photos of the press kit.

My own copy got stereo and mono side ,the first I seen copy ,first bacht sometimes only a very top DJs receive like first press like Capitol records white blank + info artist names,no logo ,but still original copy with stamping machine in deadwax
