The original version of "I'm Going Down" is released in 1977 by the band Rose Royce, hence the reference "Deep Rose Mix". Nevertheless, this is an excellent piece of electronic music that touches deep inside. I hunted "Midnight Lady" down after hearing it on Danny's Back2Basics mixed album, and I enjoy putting it on late at night, as it sets up for a very romantic mood. The soulful vocals and those exquisite chords work their magic every time.

Research pays off. The lyrics AND the vocal are from the earlier version of this song done by Rose Royce. I was unaware until recently that the Mary J version was also a remake.

Midnight Lady is a fantastic deep house track. The lyrics are from the Mary J Blige song "I'm Going Down" off her 1994 Album My Life. This track can also be found on the new Danny Tenaglia - Back to Basics double CD that will be released in the middle of May, 2002.
